As part of the 2008 Oakland Grown Campaign, Oakland Recycles, the City of Oakland, and Oakland Merchants Leadership Forum are distributing 100,000 free re-usable bags to Oakland merchants.  Merchants will be able to give these bags to their shoppers to encourage people to re-use their bags, and recycle their dollars in the community by shopping with Oakland Grown businesses and artists.
